On the night after she announced her separation from her husband Offset, Cardi B shared another very personal part of her life: the first full photo of the couple’s daughter, Kulture. “My heart,” Cardi captioned the shot of her four-month-old baby looking up at her. This is the first shot Cardi has ever shared of her baby’s face.
Up until this point, Cardi has teased everything but Kulture’s face on social media—by choice. She told Apple Music’s Ebro Darden in October that she turned down over a million dollars to sell the first full photos of Kulture to an outlet. “Me and my husband… We just don’t wanna show our baby right now,” she said during the interview then, via People. “I got offered seven figures [for baby pictures], but I’m just not ready yet.”
Cardi has instead more gradually shown her daughter. Last month, she shared a full shot of Kulture’s body in an Instagram story:
She told Entertainment Tonight shortly before posting it that photos of Kulture would come “one day soon.” That day has arrived.
And it comes during a time of transition to Cardi, who explained in an Instagram video Tuesday night why she and her husband Offset are splitting.
“So everybody been bugging me and everything, and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” she started. “And we’re really good friends and you know, we’re really good business partners—you know he’s always somebody that I went to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”
