Last night saw people from the worlds of fashion, sport and society – including Georgia May Jagger, Edward Spencer Churchill and the Earl of Mornington – banding together to raise money for DKMS at its second annual Big Love Gala at the Roundhouse in London.
DKMS global ambassador Katharina Harf welcomed guests, with the evening starting with champagne and cocktails on the mezzanine overlooking the special dinner venue. Supermodel Eva Herzigova and Sotheby’s chairman Lord Dalmeny co-hosted the proceeding auction, which included illustrious lots like front row seats at Erdem’s next fashion show and a stay at the Armani beach resort in Kenya. Guests were entertained by music by British cellist Maxim Calver, as well as a performance by Jack Savoretti.
The blood cancer charity is the world’s largest international donor centre and has helped register over 8 million potential donors and facilitated over 70,000 blood stem cell transplants worldwide. To highlight it’s important work, there was a touching moment during the evening when a blood cancer patient met his lifesaving donor for the first time. The charity’s ultimate goal is finding a matching blood stem cell donor for everyone that needs one.
